Abstracts

I work intuitively with a variety of media without a conscious image of the end result. I apply colour, and materials, boldly, often scraping, and imprinting textures into the painting. The final abstract work evolves by adding and subtracting many layers of transparent paint, acrylic mediums and collage materials. Often these abstract paintings contain rectangular shapes, images of luminous portals, spirals and circles. These symbols represent my own spiritual journey and the doorways, passages and portals that I have passed through and will still transition through on my “life-journey.”
